Following the success of Sikandar (2025), Salman Khan is now gearing up to bring his next big project, Battle Of Galwan, to the big screen. The film’s first look has garnered praise for showcasing Salman in a striking, never-before-seen avatar. As the war drama prepares to go on floors, fans and industry insiders alike are eager to know when the movie will hit cinemas. Given Salman’s history of releasing films on Eid, many wonder if Battle Of Galwan might follow suit next year.
However, a source told Bollywood Hungama that the filmmakers are not targeting an Eid release for this film. “There are already three major releases scheduled for March 19, 2026 — Toxic starring Yash, the comedy Dhamaal 4, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romantic drama Love & War featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. Even if Love & War shifts away from Eid, two other films occupy that slot. Salman is fair and does not want to prematurely announce Battle Of Galwan as an Eid release,” the source explained.
Currently, the makers are considering two potential release windows: January or June 2026. The months in between have many competing releases, and Ramzan begins in the third week of February, which complicates scheduling. The final decision will be made soon, followed by an official announcement.Another insider shared that the shoot is planned to wrap in 55-60 days, making a January release feasible though ambitious. If post-production demands more time, June becomes the likely option.
Regarding the possibility of a Bakri Eid release, the source noted that since Bakri Eid falls on May 27 and the IPL runs until May 31, the timing is less favorable. Still, Salman’s star power means he doesn’t necessarily need a festival release. If Battle Of Galwan delivers a powerful massy role and an engaging story, it can succeed regardless of whether it premieres on a holiday or not.
