Maddock Films has unveiled the final trailer for Ikkis, a gripping war drama based on the life of Param Vir Chakra awardee Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal. Celebrated for his extraordinary bravery during the 1971 Indo-Pak war, Khetarpal remains one of India’s youngest heroes to receive the nation’s highest military honour. The film is now set to release theatrically on January 1, 2026.Describing Ikkis as “a true story of unmatched courage,” the makers hailed Arun Khetarpal as “a hero who was only 21 and became eternal.”
The trailer offers a poignant glimpse into his brief but remarkable life, showcasing his fearless spirit on the battlefield and the pivotal moments that led to his ultimate sacrifice for the country.
The trailer release follows shortly after the film’s release date was postponed. Originally scheduled for December 25, 2025, Ikkis was pushed to January 1, 2026. While reports suggest this move was to avoid a box-office clash with Dharma Productions’ Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, speculation also points to the growing buzz around Dhurandhar as a factor. Adding intrigue, Amitabh Bachchan recently hinted on social media that astrology influenced the decision to change the release date. Talking about it, the film is Directed by Sriram Raghavan, Ikkis boasts a powerful ensemble cast featuring Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Agastya Nanda in his first major film role following The Archies on Netflix.
The film also marks the acting debut of Simar Bhatia, niece of Akshay Kumar. Produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, with Sharada Karki Jalota, Poonam Shivdasani, and Binny Padda as co-producers, the screenplay is penned by Sriram Raghavan alongside Arijit Biswas and Pooja Ladha Surti.
