Actor Ranveer Singh has reportedly received a threat, leading to a police investigation and increased security measures at his Mumbai home. According to a PTI report, the actor was sent a threatening voice message, which prompted authorities to launch a probe. Police sources confirmed that the Crime Branch is currently analyzing the voice note and working to identify its sender. A search operation is underway as part of the inquiry.
In response to the threat, security at the residence shared by Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone has been significantly strengthened. A letter circulating online, attributed to the society managing committee of the residential complex, states that six armed private security guards and one uniformed police officer have been deployed at the premises—a move not previously in place.
The society has raised concerns about the armed guards moving through common areas such as the lobby, gymnasium, and children’s play area. Residents have expressed unease and safety worries regarding the presence of weapons in shared spaces.
In a letter dated February 10 addressed to Dadar Police, the Society Managing Committee requested clarification on several points, including whether the private guards are carrying licensed firearms within the complex, whether the Dadar Police Station authorized their deployment, and details about the police officer stationed at the flat, such as the department responsible and the nature of the assignment.
While appreciating the police department’s swift response in sending an officer to verify the security arrangements, the society has sought official clarification to ease residents’ concerns. Police officials have not disclosed further information regarding the threatening message’s content. The investigation is ongoing.
