The film’s opening was better than expected, considering that it was opening against two other big-budget films, Gadar 2 and OMG 2. However, the film’s performance on Day 2 and Day 3 will be crucial in determining its overall box office success. Dream Girl 2 is facing stiff competition from two other big-budget films, Gadar 2 and Jailer. Gadar 2, the sequel to the 2001 blockbuster film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, has already set the box office on fire. The film earned around Rs 35 crore on Day 1, making it the biggest opener of Bollywood in 2023 after Pathaan. Jailer, starring Rajinikanth, has also been a huge success. The film collected nearly Rs 44.50 crore in India on Day 1.
Dream Girl 2, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Ananya Panday, will need to do something special to stand out from these two juggernauts. Only time will tell whether Dream Girl 2 will be a hit or a flop. However, the film’s opening is a promising sign and it will be interesting to see how it performs in the coming days.
