Thriller Kareena Kapoor Khan’s much-awaited streaming debut, the thriller film Jaane Jaan, is finally here! Yes, here is the first trailer for the film, which was released today, and it promises to be a gripping mystery. Based on the bestselling Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X, the film is directed by Sujoy Ghosh and stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Vijay Varma.
The trailer gives us a glimpse into the story of a young woman who is accused of murdering her husband. She claims that she is innocent, but the evidence against her is overwhelming. The film follows her as she tries to clear her name and find the real killer. Kareena Kapoor Khan plays Maya D’Souza, a young woman who lives in the hill station of Kalimpong. Maya is in an abusive relationship with her husband, and her neighbor Naren (Jaideep Ahlawat) suspects something is wrong. Naren is a creepy stalker who seems to be obsessed with Maya.
Vijay Varma plays Karan, a cop who arrives in Kalimpong to investigate the disappearance of Maya’s husband. Karan and Naren are old friends, and Karan immediately asks Naren about his “hot padosi,” who also happens to be the prime suspect in his investigation. The original novel, The Devotion of Suspect X, was told from the perspective of a clinical maths teacher who helped his neighbor cover up the murder of her husband. However, the trailer for Jaane Jaan suggests that the film has been re-contextualized through the eyes of the main female character, with the maths teacher seemingly playing the killer.
