The trailer for the much-anticipated action extravaganza Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, was released on Tuesday, creating a buzz on social media. The three-minute, 29-second trailer begins with the entry of a masked man, accompanied by explosive action sequences.
Following this, Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff make a dramatic entrance in a dark setting. Shroff delivers his dialogue in his signature monotone style, stating, “Dil se soldier, dimaag se shaitaan hain hum” (Soldiers by heart, devils by mind), followed by Akshay Kumar completing the line with, “Bachke rehna humse Hindustan hain hum” (Beware, we are India). The trailer then showcases a banter-filled horse riding scene in the middle of a desert, where Tiger Shroff references the Fast & Furious franchise while making his case to lead the mission.
Later in the trailer, the male leads are introduced to their female colleagues, played by Manushi Chhillar and Alaya F, respectively. The trailer progresses to showcase high-octane action sequences featuring the two male leads, who eventually get kidnapped by the masked man introduced earlier.
The trailer concludes with Tiger Shroff revealing that their regiment is known as Lions, to which Akshay Kumar responds, “Is regiment ka soldier jitna zakhmi hota hai” (The more wounded a soldier from this regiment is), and Tiger Shroff replies, “Utna zyaada khatarnaak hota hai” (The more dangerous he becomes).
Following the release of the trailer on Twitter, netizens quickly shared their reactions. Some viewers expressed disappointment, pointing out scenes that appeared to be directly lifted from Hollywood movies like Outside the Wire and Hobbs & Shaw.
Others criticized the lack of originality, subpar VFX, and action sequences, calling it a disaster and a letdown. Some users compared the film to Hobbs & Shaw, while others labeled it a flop. However, there were also fans of Akshay Kumar who praised the trailer, calling it a blockbuster and expressing excitement to see him in action sequences once again.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and produced by Pooja Entertainment, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Tiger Shroff, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ronit Bose Roy, Sonakshi Sinha, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F. The film is set to release in theaters on April 10th, coinciding with the festival of Eid.
