Kriti Sanon Reveals Challenges in Bollywood, Opens Up About Losing Roles to Star Kids: ‘I Was Getting Frustrated

Bollywood star Kriti Sanon embarked on her career as a model before transitioning into acting. Today, she stands as one of the most sought-after actresses of her generation, enjoying the success of her recent films, “Teri Baatoin Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” and “Crew.” However, her journey has been challenging, as she recently expressed frustration over losing roles to star kids.

Kriti made her Bollywood debut in 2014 with “Heropanti,” alongside Tiger Shroff, who hails from a film background. Her impressive performance in the film earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Since then, she has continued to shine in movies like “Luka Chuppi,” “Bareilly Ki Barfi,” “Dilwale,” and her stellar portrayal in the comedy-drama “Mimi” even garnered her a National Award.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kriti Sanon revealed that she had lost several film opportunities to star kids, which left her feeling restless and frustrated during that phase of her career. She knew she had more potential than the opportunities that came her way and desired something substantial to showcase her talent. Kriti said, “I wanted something where I could just show my potential as an actor way more.” The lack of such opportunities led to her frustration, as she believed in her capability to excel.

Kriti also observed how some star kids effortlessly secured roles while she struggled to find similar opportunities. She mentioned, “At that point, I was also seeing some new faces, some of them belonging to the film background, coming in having not done anything and getting opportunities that I was like, how…”

Despite the challenges, Kriti Sanon has emerged as one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. In 2019, she was recognized on Forbes’ India’s Celebrity 100 list. Furthermore, she has ventured into production with her company, Do Patti. Currently, her film released on March 29 and continues to run in theaters, further solidifying her position in the industry.
