Raj Kundra, the businessman and husband of actress Shilpa Shetty, is currently facing allegations of involvement in a money laundering case related to a Bitcoin fraud scheme. On Thursday, the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) attached properties belonging to Raj Kundra valued at ₹97.79 crore under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002
According to the ED, Raj Kundra received 285 Bitcoins from the mastermind of the scam, Amit Bhardwaj, in exchange for establishing a Bitcoin mining farm in Ukraine. These Bitcoins were obtained from criminal proceeds collected from investors and are estimated to be worth over ₹150 crore. Despite the deal falling through, Kundra is alleged to still be in possession of these Bitcoins
In response to the ED’s claims, Raj Kundra’s legal counsel, Prashant Patil, stated that they will follow the due process of law and take necessary steps to protect their clients’ liberty and property. He expressed confidence in the judiciary and the investigation agencies, believing that a fair representation before the ED will lead to justice.
Shilpa Shetty, Raj Kundra’s wife, has remained silent on the matter and has not commented on the allegations.
Cryptic Messages on Instagram
Amidst the ongoing drama, Raj Kundra has been posting cryptic messages on his Instagram stories. In one of his posts, he quoted, “Learning To Stay Calm When You Feel Disrespected Is A Different Type Of Growth” Check the post as under:
Raj Kundra’s properties have been attached by the ED under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act in connection with a Bitcoin fraud case. The ED alleges that Kundra received Bitcoins from the scam’s mastermind and is still in possession of them. Raj Kundra has been sharing cryptic messages on his Instagram amidst the ongoing controversy. Shilpa Shetty has not commented on the matter.
