Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s highly anticipated epic, Love & War, is generating significant excitement, thanks to its stellar cast that includes Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. At the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa, Ranbir shared his enthusiasm for reuniting with the esteemed director, expressing that he was “extremely excited” about the collaboration, as reported by The Indian Express.
While addressing the audience, Ranbir stated, “I am extremely excited. He is my godfather. Everything I know about films, everything I know about acting, I learned from him.”Ranbir’s relationship with Bhansali is well-established; he previously served as an assistant director on Black (2005) and made his acting debut in Saawariya (2007). Reflecting on their ongoing partnership, he commented, “He hasn’t changed at all. He is incredibly hard-working. His sole focus is his movies. He wants to discuss the character and encourages you to create and do something different.
”The film was officially announced in January 2024, with an Instagram post that read, “We Bring You Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Epic Saga Love & War. See You At The Movies Christmas 2025.” The announcement featured the signatures of the lead cast—Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal.Love & War marks the second collaboration between Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Alia Bhatt, following their successful project Gangubai Kathiawadi (2022), for which Alia received the National Award for Best Actress.Meanwhile, Ranbir Kapoor was last seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, with a sequel already in the works. The actor is also currently filming Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, alongside Sai Pallavi and Yash.
