Hera Pheri 3 Dispute: Akshay Kumar’s Legal Team Responds to Paresh Rawal’s Exit, Cites ‘Consequences of Unilateral Pullback’

Akshay Kumar and his production house, Cape of Good Films, have reportedly initiated legal action against veteran actor Paresh Rawal for his abrupt withdrawal from the project. Advocate Pooja Tidke, representing the production house, confirmed that a legal notice has been issued, citing breach of contract and damages amounting to â‚¹25 crores. According to the legal team, Rawal had officially committed to the film earlier this year and had even started shooting. “Stakeholders had met and confirmed the film’s production. In fact, Paresh ji tweeted about the film at the end of January, clearly indicating his involvement. Contracts were signed, and the shooting for the trailer began, including a portion of the film that was shot for about three to three and a half minutes,” Tidke stated in a report to PTI.
However, the situation took a sharp turn in May when Rawal allegedly informed the media that he would no longer be part of the film, shocking the cast and crew. “It’s taken everybody by surprise,” Tidke said. “There have been expenses incurred for the cast, crew, senior actors, logistics, equipment, and trailer shooting.” She added, “Substantial funds have already been invested in the film, and shooting had commenced, disrupting everyone’s synchronized schedules.
This has professionally affected everyone involved.”Tidke further explained the potential ramifications, noting that the production house had already paid â‚¹11 lakhs to Rawal and had begun filming based on their contractual agreement. “These damages are due to losses suffered from his unilateral withdrawal after committing to the project. The production house has incurred its own costs as well,” she noted. The legal notice gives Rawal a seven-day window to respond, which will conclude in the coming days. “So far, there has been no development since then. It’s true we’ve issued a legal notice,” she confirmed.
While expressing hope for an amicable resolution, she added, “I’m sure the parties are in discussions to work things out. Let’s hope for a positive outcome. It’s in everyone’s best interest—the stakeholders, the audience, and the beloved franchise.”As of now, no new updates have emerged since the notice was sent, but sources indicate that informal discussions may be underway to resolve the matter outside of court. The Hera Pheri franchise, celebrated for its cult status and comedic timing, remains shrouded in uncertainty as fans eagerly await clarity on the future of its third installment.
