The much-loved Cocktail series is gearing up for a grand return after a 13-year hiatus, with its sequel slated for release in 2026. Directed once again by Homi Adajania, who helmed the original hit, Cocktail 2 stars Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, promising to bring fresh energy to the franchise.
Rashmika Mandanna, currently riding high on the success of her recent films and buzzing about her rumored romance with Vijay Deverakonda, has become a focal point of excitement around the sequel. Recently, director Homi Adajania stirred anticipation by sharing an unedited, candid photo of Rashmika from the film’s workshop days on social media. Captioned with a playful nod to his role as dialect coach and tagged #workinprogress, the post gave fans a sneak peek into the behind-the-scenes vibe as production kicks off. Further hinting that filming is underway, Homi’s wife and celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania posted an Instagram story featuring the Cocktail 2 script, again using the #workinprogress tag. According to reports, shooting involving Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika is expected to wrap by January 2026, with filming locations spanning scenic spots across India and Europe. The sequel is also likely to introduce a diverse supporting cast to complement the leads.
Looking at the stars’ upcoming projects, Shahid Kapoor, fresh from his performance in Deva, will be seen alongside Triptii Dimri in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Arjun Ustara. Kriti Sanon is gearing up for Aanand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein opposite Dhanush, while Rashmika is set to complete Thama with Ayushmann Khurrana before fully diving into Cocktail 2.
