After much speculation, the untitled project of Rajinikanth and Lokesh Kanagaraj has finally been unveiled with a title and a thrilling commercial teaser. The film is now named Coolie, and a captivating 3-minute and 16-second teaser has been released to introduce audiences to Lokesh’s Universe.
The teaser is equally captivating in both Hindi and Tamil, as it showcases Anna (Rajinikanth) entering a dockyard filled with gold. But amidst all the glitter, it is Anna who shines the brightest. He fearlessly takes on goons at illegal sites, displaying unmatched charm and suaveness.
In Tamil, the actor reprises his iconic Ranga dialogue, which serves as a delightful homage to his fans. Anirudh’s background music enhances the commercial entertainer, promising an exhilarating experience. However, it is too early to judge the film solely based on the teaser, as the shoot is yet to commence.
Interestingly, the Hindi version of the teaser drops a massive hint about Shah Rukh Khan’s involvement. Several months ago, there were speculations that SRK was approached by Lokesh for a collaboration with Rajinikanth. While he politely declined the offer at the time, it is now speculated that SRK is indeed a part of Coolie. In the teaser, Anna subtly suggests this significant collaboration, leaving viewers to discover the details themselves. However, it is worth mentioning that a breezy whistle at the end of the teaser adds to the intrigue.
Lokesh Kanagaraj achieved great success with his previous release, Leo, at the box office. On the other hand, Rajinikanth ruled the box office with Jailer last year. With these two powerhouses collaborating on Coolie, it seems like a masterstroke, even in the Hindi film industry.
The Hindi teaser of Coolie, in a classic manner, features Rajinikanth’s voice exclaiming ‘Phoot le’ (which means ‘burst’) as he fights goons, indicating that a full-blown masala film is on its way. Hopefully, Coolie will achieve golden numbers at the box office as it commences shooting with the announcement teaser. It is, however, too soon to make any predictions at this stage.
