Dhurandhar Makers Choose Low-Key Promotion; Ranveer Singh to Maintain a Low Profile Pre-Release

The much-anticipated trailer of Dhurandhar was unveiled at a grand event held at Mumbai’s iconic Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. The launch saw the presence of the film’s team, media members, and nearly 2,000 enthusiastic fans of lead actor Ranveer Singh. This high-energy event sparked hopes among fans that Ranveer and the star-studded cast—including R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun—would engage in extensive promotions ahead of the release. However, Bollywood Hungama has learned that the makers have opted for a very different approach.

A source revealed, “Jio Studios and B62 Studios, the film’s producers, have decided on a low-key promotional strategy. Ranveer Singh will avoid TV show appearances, big-scale events, city tours, and interviews before the film’s release.”The insider added, “Ranveer supported this decision wholeheartedly. After being heavily visible during Cirkus (2022) and other films, he wants to avoid overexposure and let the film’s quality speak for itself. The teaser and trailer have already generated strong excitement among audiences.

Post-release, they might consider opening up to the media.” An industry expert commented, “Sometimes, less is more. Recent examples like Saiyaara and Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat showed how minimal pre-release promotions paired with strong content can create a successful impact. When backed by solid material, this strategy can truly pay off.”Dhurandhar, also starring Sanjay Dutt and Akshaye Khanna, is set to hit theaters on December 5.

A Reflection on Ranveer’s Publicity Strategy

Earlier this year, trade analyst Taran Adarsh discussed Ranveer Singh’s box office challenges compared to Ranbir Kapoor’s stronger pull. He noted, “Ranbir’s strategy of limited public appearances after Brahmastra has worked in his favor. In contrast, Ranveer’s frequent ads, photoshoots, and events have led to audience fatigue. The 70s and 80s actors believed that their work should speak for itself. Ranveer needs to reduce his public appearances to rebuild excitement around his films.”
