However, sources indicate that the filmmakers are eager to premiere the film once the electoral process stabilizes. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has reportedly approved the film’s release with a few cuts.A source confirmed these developments, stating, “After agreeing to all the terms set by the CBFC, the team is likely to release the film after the Punjab elections. This film is very important to all of us, and we want the audience to experience it.
After careful consideration to avoid hurting anyone’s sentiments, the team decided that it would be best to wait until after the elections to choose an appropriate release date. Launching the film during a calmer period seems like the most sensible decision. The film is directed by Kangana Ranaut herself who also plays the lead role in it. Emergency features her in the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film also stars Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, and Vishak Nair in pivotal roles.
