Paresh Rawal, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated actors, is known for his iconic performances in films like Hungama, OMG: Oh My God!, Sardar, and Table No. 21. Among his many roles, his portrayal of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte in the Hera Pheri series stands out as a fan favorite. The first Hera Pheri (2000), a hilarious tale of three men caught in a chaotic kidnapping scheme, became a cult classic, featuring Rawal alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Its sequel, Phir Hera Pheri (2006), also became an instant classic, cementing the series as one of Bollywood’s most beloved comedy franchises.
Fans have eagerly awaited Hera Pheri 3, and after years of speculation, the project is finally moving forward. However, recent revelations by Paresh Rawal confirmed that Kartik Aaryan, who was initially attached to the film, is no longer part of the project due to significant story changes.
Paresh Rawal Clears the Air
In a recent interview with Siddharth Kannan, Paresh Rawal clarified that while Kartik Aaryan was signed for the film, he was never cast as Raju, Akshay Kumar’s iconic character. Instead, Aaryan was set to play a different role, but the evolving script led to his departure.Rawal explained, “Kartik was signed when the story was different. People thought he’d play Raju, but his character was completely different. Akshay was always meant to reprise his role.
Now, with the story changed, Kartik isn’t part of the film. ”This revelation clears up confusion, especially after rumors surfaced that Aaryan might replace Kumar, as he did in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. Fans can now rejoice as the original trio—Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal—will return for the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3.
