At the success press meet of the surprise animated hit Mahavatar Narsimha, producer Chaluve Gowda of Hombale Films, along with director Ashwin Kumar, producer Shilpaa Dhawan, and distributor Anil Thadani, reflected on the film’s remarkable journey. Unlike typical film events held at luxury venues, this devotional film’s celebration took place at Mumbai’s ISKCON Temple, underscoring its spiritual appeal.
Chaluve Gowda shared insights on what set Mahavatar Narsimha apart. “The story itself wasn’t new — it has been told before, such as in the Kannada film starring Dr. Rajkumar and the Telugu classic Bhakta Prahlada (1967). But the animation, especially in the last 20-25 minutes, was so vivid and lifelike it matched the quality of live-action cinema,” he explained. He added, “This unique approach made the film appealing beyond just children. We believed strongly in it. Our intention was never to overshadow the success of other films.
The content simply resonated well with audiences, allowing it to thrive. Meanwhile, other films were already experiencing a slowdown at the box office.”When asked about upcoming projects, Chaluve Gowda revealed, “Our most anticipated release is Kantara: Chapter 1 on October 2. Following that, we have Salaar Part 2: Shauryanga Parvam lined up.”Excitingly, he also confirmed, “We have signed two more films with Prabhas sir. Additionally, we’re working on a project with Hrithik Roshan, which is currently in the early stages.
There are a couple more projects in very preliminary phases that we’ll announce when the time is right. We’re truly excited about all of these ventures.” This update highlights Hombale Films’ expanding slate and their growing collaborations with major stars, promising exciting times ahead for the production house.
