In the trailer of “Crew,” Tabu’s dialogue “Baith c*****e” was replaced with “Baith bhootiye” by the CBFC in the theatrical cut

Last month, the teaser of the film Crew was released to widespread appreciation. Starring Tabu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Kriti Sanon, the promo received praise for its chemistry between the leads, writing, and humor. However, those who saw the teaser of Crew on the big screen were surprised to find that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) had made modifications to certain words. The term ‘haraamzaade’ was replaced with ‘ameerzaade’, while ‘haraamiyon’ was completely removed and changed to ‘kamino’. Now, it has come to light that even the theatrical trailer, which was unveiled today, has undergone cuts from the Censors.

The 2-minute-44-second-long trailer concludes with a powerful line delivered by Tabu, who plays an air hostess. She sternly says, ‘Baith, c*****e’ (Sit down, ) to a passenger who is not following the rules. The abusive word can be clearly heard in the digitally released trailer. However, in the theatrical version of the trailer, ‘ce’ has been replaced with ‘Bhootiye’ (Ghost). It remains to be seen if a similar replacement will also be made when the film is released in cinemas.

Crew also features Diljit Dosanjh and Kapil Sharma in prominent roles. The film is directed by Rajesh Krishnan, known for his work in Lootcase (2020), and produced by Ektaa R Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Rhea Kapoor. It is set to release in theaters on March 29th. According to the trailer, the film tells the story of three air hostesses working for an airline company that has gone bankrupt. However, their luck changes when they stumble upon an opportunity. Despite facing obstacles and engaging in criminal activities, the trio takes the plunge, resulting in madness and chaos.

In the meantime, speculations have arisen that Crew is inspired by the bankruptcy episode of Kingfisher Airlines. This speculation stems from the fact that the name of the company where the characters work in the film is Kohinoor Airlines, which sounds quite similar to Kingfisher Airlines. Additionally, Saswata Chatterjee plays the role of Vijay Walia, the chairman of Kohinoor Airlines, which seems to be inspired by Vijay Mallya, the founder of Kingfisher Airlines.
