The deal, valued at ₹150 crores, was executed through a combination of primary and secondary transactions, significantly bolstering the content portfolio of Jio Studios.
Jio Studios has emerged as a titan in India’s content economy, recently producing the highest-grossing Indian film, Dhurandhar, as well as hits like Laapataa Ladies and the Stree franchise. This acquisition allows Jio Studios to merge its massive distribution scale and commercial expertise with Sikhya’s unparalleled creative legacy.
Founded by Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain, Sikhya Entertainment is the only Indian production house to boast two Academy Awards® (for The Elephant Whisperers and Period. End of Sentence.) and multiple National Film Awards. Their acclaimed filmography—featuring titles like The Lunchbox, Masaan, and Kill—has been instrumental in bringing independent, culturally rooted Indian stories to the global stage.
