Kangana Ranaut, the Bollywood actress known for her candid nature, has once again stirred up controversy by raising concerns about the dark web and its potential misuse within the film industry. She took to Instagram to express her apprehensions following the recent recommendation by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for mandatory caller ID displays.
In her Instagram story, the outspoken Queen actress suggested that “many popular film personalities” are involved in utilizing the dark web, not only for accessing illicit content but also for hacking into individuals’ communications such as WhatsApp and emails. While refraining from directly naming specific individuals, she underscored the urgency of addressing such activities, urging action against the dark web and warning, “Centre should do something about the dark web as well. Many big names will be exposed if they crack them down.”
This is not the first time the Dhaakad actress has made allegations pertaining to the film industry. In July 2023, she accused the “film mafia” of hacking her accounts, alleging that they impersonated her to engage in fraudulent activities. Furthermore, in February 2023, she hinted at being surveilled by a known actor, implying the unauthorized disclosure of her personal and professional information.
Despite the controversies, the 36-year-old actress remains actively involved in the film industry. Her recent release, Tejas, graced the theaters in October 2023. She is also preparing for her ambitious directorial venture, Emergency, where she portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, scheduled for release in 2024. Additionally, she has an upcoming project alongside her Tanu Weds Manu co-star R Madhavan. With her unyielding spirit, Kangana Ranaut continues to make her mark in the industry, both on and off the screen.
