Superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s granddaughter, Navya Naveli Nanda, embarked on her academic journey at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Ahmedabad last year, enrolling in the BPGP MBA program. Recently, she offered a glimpse into her life at what she describes as the “best campus,” sharing memorable moments with her friends from the institute.
Taking to Instagram, Navya expressed her admiration for both the IIM Ahmedabad campus and her classmates. Accompanying photos with her batchmates, she captioned her post, “Best campus with the best people.” In the pictures, Navya sported a casual look in a black sweatshirt and brown pants while showcasing the stunning architecture of the IIM Ahmedabad campus. Upon announcing her acceptance into IIM Ahmedabad, some online commentators questioned the legitimacy of her MBA program, with many expressing surprise over a star kid gaining admission to such a selective institution.
However, Promila Agarwal, a professor at IIM, came to Navya’s defense on social media, stating, “The acceptance rate for this program is low, like others. Even if people want to discount her interview & CV. She, dammit, cleared the cut-off.” She further highlighted the ongoing debate about why elite families often choose to study abroad instead of in India, remarking on the scrutiny Navya faced for opting for an online MBA.
Navya’s Career Aspirations
Despite being part of a prominent film family, Navya Naveli Nanda has no interest in pursuing an acting career. In a conversation with Brut India, she candidly shared, “I think I am just not very good at it, to be honest. You should do something only if you are 100 percent passionate about it. It’s not something I am passionate about. I think I am doing exactly what I love doing. My skill set lies elsewhere.
Meanwhile, her brother, Agastya Nanda, has already made his Bollywood debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies, alongside Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, and Vedang Raina. He is set to make his theatrical debut in Sriram Raghavan’s Ekkis, which features Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Simar Bhatia, Akshay Kumar’s niece. The film is expected to release later this year, furthering the Nanda family’s presence in the film industry.
