Nora Fatehi recorded her statement in a defamation case against Jacqueline Fernandez and media organizations. Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi on Monday recorded her statement before the Metropolitan Magistrate Kapil Gupta in a defamation case filed by her against another Bollywood actor Jacqueline Fernandez and various media organizations.
Fatehi, who appeared in Patiala House Court, said that she had filed the case against Fernandez and the media organizations because they had ruined her reputation in the public eye by spreading false narratives about her. “They have called me a gold digger and accused me of having a relationship with a con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar,” Fatehi said. “This has caused me a loss of financial gain and reputation.”
Fatehi said that she had nothing to do with the ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) case against Chandrasekhar, who is accused of conning a sum of ₹ 200 crore. “I have filed this case because I want to clear my name and protect my reputation,” Fatehi said. The case is scheduled to be heard again on August 14. Bollywood actor Nora Fatehi has said that she feels she was used as a scapegoat in the media to safeguard certain people in the ongoing Enforcement Directorate (ED) case against conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
Fatehi, who has filed a defamation case against fellow actor Jacqueline Fernandez and various media organizations, said that she was taken as a soft target because she is an outsider. “I feel that I have been used as a scapegoat in this case in the media to safeguard certain people and because I am an outsider and I have been taken as a soft target,” Fatehi said in her statement.
She also said that Fernandez’s statement in the media about why the ED had listed her as a witness in the case and Fernandez as an accused had led to “prolonged and unnecessary harassment, loss of work and cyberbullying.” Fatehi said that she is seeking compensation for all the damages caused to her career.
