Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is just nine days away from its theatrical release, yet it is already making waves at the box office. Set for a grand worldwide premiere, the film’s pre-sales in the US suggest a blockbuster opening, outpacing previous hits like RRR and Jawan. On Monday, trade tracker Venky Box Office reported impressive advance booking figures for the film’s US premiere. According to a tweet, “#Pushpa2TheRule USA Premiere Advance Sales: $1,383,949 – 900 Locations – 3420 Shows – 50008 Tickets Sold.”
By Sunday evening, over 50,000 tickets had been sold in the US, with the total advance booking collections in North America surpassing $1.458 million (approximately ₹12 crore), setting a new record. Analysts predict that with nine days remaining until its release, Pushpa 2 is on track to exceed $1.5 million in pre-sales. This puts it ahead of SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan, both of which grossed over $15 million in North America and rank among the top five highest-grossing Indian films in the region. The film is also keeping pace with Pathaan, another Shah Rukh Khan blockbuster, and is closing in on the all-time record holder, Baahubali 2, which earned $20 million in the US.
Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. It features Allu Arjun reprising his role as the titular anti-hero, alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil. Touted as one of the biggest Indian productions ever, the film is set to hit theaters on December 5, 2024, and is generating immense excitement among fans and audiences alike.
With its gripping storyline and stellar performances, Pushpa 2 promises to be a thrilling cinematic experience that fans will not want to miss.
