Director Aditya Dhar’s upcoming film, tentatively titled Dhurandhar, kicked off filming in July 2024 and features a remarkable cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, and Akshaye Khanna. Adding to the excitement, reports have surfaced about the inclusion of Sara Arjun in a pivotal role. As per Peeping Moon, Sara Arjun has been cast as the romantic lead opposite Ranveer Singh. Although specifics about her character are still under wraps, this role marks a significant milestone in her career as she transitions from child roles to adult characters. This film could be a defining moment for her as she strives to establish herself as a leading heroine in the industry.
Sara has appeared in several notable films throughout her childhood in both Hindi and Telugu cinema. Audiences may remember her from Vikram’s Deiva Thirumagal, Salman Khan’s Jai Ho, or Taapsee Pannu’s Saand Ki Aankh. Most recently, she played the younger version of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s character in Mani Ratnam’s historical epic, Ponniyin Selvan. While Sara’s casting is an encouraging development, it has sparked some conversations due to the age gap between her and Singh—she is currently 20, while he will turn 40 next year. However, the details of their characters and the dynamics of their on-screen relationship remain undisclosed.
The film revolves around a high-stakes mission, with Singh portraying an intelligence officer on a critical operation in Pakistan. Khanna, Madhavan, and Rampal also play roles as members of Indian intelligence agencies, while Sanjay Dutt is rumored to portray the antagonist.Filming began in Thailand and is expected to continue in Mumbai and the United Arab Emirates. The production team aims to wrap up shooting by January 2025, targeting a release in the latter half of the year. Dhurandhar is produced by Aditya Dhar and Lokesh Dhar under their B62 Studios banner in collaboration with Jio Studios.
