The Mumbai Police has submitted a substantial 1,735-page chargesheet against nine individuals, comprising six arrested suspects and three fugitives, in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s residence in Bandra. This chargesheet, which also includes the name of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, was filed at the special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime (MCOC) court.
The comprehensive chargesheet encompasses various investigation documents across three volumes, incorporating statements from 46 witnesses, statements of witnesses under Section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) recorded before the magistrate, confessional statements under the MCOC Act, 22 panchanamas, and technical evidence. This significant development marks a crucial milestone in the investigation into the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence.
The firing incident, which occurred in the early hours of April 14, involved two motorcycle-borne assailants firing five rounds outside Khan’s Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. Salman Khan and his family had been subjected to continuous threats, prompting the superstar to apply for a weapons license for their protection. During a statement given to the police in June, Khan revealed the past threats he had received from the gang of the jailed gangster, including a letter found near his residence in June 2022 and a threat issued by fugitive gangster Goldy Brar in 2023. Additionally, a chargesheet filed earlier this month revealed that Bishnoi had issued a bounty of Rs. 25 lakhs on Salman Khan.
The chargesheet will undergo scrutiny by the court, and subsequent legal proceedings will be determined accordingly. This development underscores the significant progress in the investigation into the firing incident outside Salman Khan’s residence. Talking about his work, he is busy in his couple of movies, which will be releasing this year and next Eid season.
