Sikandar, the highly anticipated Bollywood film starring superstar Salman Khan, has become the talk of the town among fans. With its release just two weeks away, the excitement is palpable, especially as it is set to hit theaters during the Eid festival, which has become synonymous with Salman Khan’s releases. Interestingly, the film’s promotional materials had only mentioned “Eid 2025” as the release period, leading to speculation about the exact release date. However, as per Bollywood Hungama reports the film’s new release date has been confirmed.
According to a source, “Sikandar‘s release date has been locked. It will arrive in cinemas on Sunday, March 30. The makers are confident that this is the right day for the film’s release. Sunday will be a big holiday, especially in Maharashtra, as Gudi Padwa falls on that day. Meanwhile, Ramzan Eid will be celebrated on Monday, March 31, and the post-Eid holiday effect will continue until Wednesday, April 2 in many centers. The collections are expected to see a jump again from Friday, April 4. Therefore, the film’s collections are likely to remain strong until Sunday, April 6.
As per Bollywood Hungama reports, it was on March 3 that Sikandar was expected to release on March 30. Interestingly, Salman Khan’s last film, Tiger 3 (2023), also opted for an unconventional Sunday release, arriving in theaters on November 12, 2023, the day of Diwali, and benefiting from the post-holiday effect throughout the week.
On March 16, Bollywood Hungama also broke the news that the makers would officially announce the release date by Wednesday, March 19. The much-awaited trailer is expected to be released in the coming weekend, and advance booking is also anticipated to start at the same time. Additionally, reports suggest that a grand event is being planned to further enhance the buzz around the film.Alongside Salman Khan, Sikandar also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, and Sharman Joshi. The film is directed by A.R. Murugadoss.
