Renowned Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan is preparing to portray a gritty don in his upcoming film, “King,” which promises to be a raw and rustic action-thriller. Making her silver screen debut after her OTT debut in “The Archies” last December, Khan’s daughter Suhana Khan will join him in this venture. In “King,” Khan’s character will not only be a powerful underworld figure but will also possess a complex moral compass with intriguing “shades of grey” that will captivate audiences.
According to a report from Pinkvilla, a source revealed that Khan’s role in “King” will pay homage to his past characters with darker sides, such as his iconic roles in “Darr,” “Anjaam,” and “Raees.” The source stated, “Shah Rukh Khan is creating films for the audience and is well aware of their desire to see him in shades of grey. ‘King’ is his passion project, and he has been meticulously working on all aspects of the project with Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh. Together, they have crafted a character for SRK in ‘King’ that exudes coolness, attitude, and swag, while also having shades of grey.”
“King” holds great personal significance for Khan, and he has been deeply involved in its development. Collaborating closely with directors Siddharth Anand and Sujoy Ghosh, Khan aims to shape a character that is simultaneously cool and ruthless. The source further revealed, “While the character design has already been finalized, Siddharth Anand is currently working on the action sequences with international stunt teams. Sujoy, on the other hand, is preparing the dialogue draft, while SRK is overseeing the creative process and training with Suhana for some cutting-edge action sequences.”
The surprises within “King” do not end there. The source also hinted at a new look for Khan in the film, featuring long hair and a beard, a departure from his usual clean-cut persona. Although details about the plot remain under wraps, the report suggests that “King” will be an adrenaline-fueled action thriller that pushes the boundaries of survival. Khan will portray the mentor guiding a disciple through a treacherous world, with Suhana Khan taking on the role of this disciple.
