Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film King is escalating in scale and grandeur by the day. Directed by Siddharth Anand, this action thriller is shaping up to be the biggest action spectacle in Indian cinema history. Trusted sources have confirmed that the film’s budget has soared to around ₹350 crores—excluding additional expenses for print, publicity, and other ancillary costs.
A source revealed to Bollywood Hungama, “King initially began as an action thriller with an extended SRK cameo, directed by Sujoy Ghosh, with a budget of ₹150 crores. However, when Siddharth Anand took over, he collaborated closely with SRK to elevate the film to a grander scale, crafting action sequences on an unprecedented level. SRK, known for his willingness to invest lavishly in delivering rich visual spectacles, gave Siddharth free rein. The director returned with a ₹350 crore budget plan”
The source added, “SRK was captivated by Siddharth’s vision. King is a global film made in India. While similar projects in the West cost millions of dollars, Siddharth aims to achieve comparable scale and quality at just one-fifth of that cost. The movie features six extraordinary action sequences—three filmed on real locations and three on elaborate sets—each designed to perfection.
”A significant portion of the budget has been dedicated to SRK’s introductory sequence, which promises to be a major highlight of the film.
