On the evening of Thursday, December 26, Salman Khan revealed an exciting poster for his highly anticipated film Sikandar and confirmed that the teaser would be released the following day, Friday, December 27. The timing was particularly significant as it coincided with the superstar’s birthday. Fans eagerly awaited the teaser’s digital drop at 11:07 AM on December 27. However, just hours later, the sudden passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh prompted the Sikandar team to postpone the teaser release by 24 hours. Understandably, fans expressed their disappointment over the delay, but industry insiders commended Salman Khan and producer Sajid Nadiadwala for their respectful decision.
An insider shared with Bollywood Hungama, “Salman Khan was filming for Bigg Boss 18 on Thursday night when he learned about Dr. Singh’s demise. He immediately called Sajid Nadiadwala, and they both agreed that it wouldn’t be appropriate to release the teaser while the country mourns the loss of the former Prime Minister. ”Another industry insider added, “Salman was aware that December 27 was significant for his fans and that it could have been a double celebration with the teaser launch. However, he is known for his big heart and understood the need to act sensitively. Sajid Nadiadwala shared the same sentiment and was pleased that they were aligned on this decision. Both are optimistic that fans will be thrilled once the teaser is finally released tomorrow, putting the disappointment behind them. ”Sikandar, directed by A R Murugadoss, known for the hit Ghajini (2008), also features Rashmika Mandanna and is slated to hit theaters on Eid 2025.
