The Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao-starrer Stree 2 has been delighting audiences in theaters for nine days, showing no signs of slowing down. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film earned an impressive Rs 16.5 crore nett on its ninth day, according to early estimates from industry tracker Sacnilk. Stree 2 has successfully crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in India, making it the biggest Hindi hit of the year and the most successful film for both lead actors. The current nett domestic total stands at Rs 308.15 crore.
On its ninth day, Stree 2 recorded an overall occupancy of 26.73%. The film performed particularly well in major cities such as Mumbai, Delhi-NCR, Ahmedabad, and Pune. In Mumbai, it had 1,091 shows with an occupancy rate of 29.75%, while in the Delhi-NCR region, occupancy reached 31.25% with 1,152 shows. Ahmedabad and Pune reported occupancies of 18% and 25.75%, respectively.For Shraddha Kapoor, Stree 2 marks her biggest hit to date, surpassing her previous top grosser, Chhichhore, which earned Rs 153.16 crore. For Rajkummar Rao, the film also eclipses his previous success with the original Stree, which grossed Rs 129.83 crore.
Producers Maddock Films reported that Stree 2 grossed Rs 428 crore worldwide in its first eight days, with Rs 363 crore from India and Rs 64.5 crore overseas. The film is on track to surpass the global collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, which stands at Rs 454 crore. The film released alongside Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein on Independence Day, Stree 2 is enjoying a strong box office performance, and with no major releases this weekend, it looks set for a successful second weekend at the theaters.
