One Twitter user tweeted that Huma Qureshi’s appearance and voice did not match the late chef Tarla Dalal. The user gave credit to the film’s small-scale feminism, but they felt that Qureshi was miscast in the role.
Another Twitter user questioned why Huma Qureshi, who is a Muslim, should play the role of a vegetarian. The user felt that this was a misrepresentation of the Muslim community, and that Qureshi should have been cast in a different role.
