Maddock Films’ Tehran, a gripping geopolitical spy thriller starring John Abraham, Manushi Chhillar, Neeru Bajwa, and Madhurima Tuli, is set for its world premiere this August. The film centers on a man caught between nations—hunted by Iran, abandoned by Israel, and deserted by India—and draws inspiration from real events to paint a fictionalized, intense narrative.Directed by Arun Gopalan, Tehran delves into the tense backdrop of escalating Israel-Iran conflicts and explores the shadowy world of international espionage, where shifting loyalties could alter the balance between trust and betrayal.

When & Where to Stream Tehran?

Tehran will premiere exclusively on Zee5 on August 14, 2025, giving viewers a chance to experience this psychological and political thriller from the comfort of their homes. The story is inspired by the 2012 bomb explosion near the Israeli Embassy in Delhi, a real incident that triggered complex diplomatic tensions.

John Abraham plays ACP Rajeev Kumar, an officer drawn into a covert operation spanning continents and fractured alliances. The film raises compelling questions: Is Rajeev India’s ultimate patriot working behind the scenes, or a rogue agent navigating his own path through a murky world?

Insights from the Team Behind Tehran

Producer Dinesh Vijan shared, “Tehran focuses on what lies beneath the headlines—the human element. It’s about how a single life can shape international relations. This genre is rare in Indian cinema, but at Maddock Films, we prioritize heartfelt storytelling. Tehran is a story we believe audiences worldwide will connect with.

Director Arun Gopalan described the film as “a mirror to a fractured world—about shifting loyalties, blurred identities, and the human cost of global politics. We approached it with honesty because its truth is deeply rooted in reality. Every choice and betrayal carries weight. I’m grateful to John, Manushi, and the cast for their authenticity. Tehran is more than a spy thriller—it’s an adrenaline-fueled journey that challenges you to question whose truth you trust.”
John Abraham said, “Tehran is a global film rooted in real events but resonating worldwide. Playing ACP Rajeev Kumar, a complex man torn between duty and conscience, has been one of my most intense roles. This story isn’t about good versus evil but navigating the grey areas. I’m proud to be part of such a layered project.”
