Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon’s film, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, has arrived on the OTT platform Prime Video nearly two months after its theatrical release. The OTT giant took to its official Instagram handle on Friday to share the news, captioning, “A love story that’ll reboot your definition of romance! #TeriBaatonMeinOnPrime, watch now.”
The film, which premiered on February 9, marked the first on-screen collaboration between Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, and their on-screen chemistry was well-received by the audience. The storyline revolves around an unconventional romantic relationship between a scientist and a humanoid robot. Shahid’s character introduces Kriti to his family as his beloved, unaware that she is, in fact, a robot. When the truth comes to light, a rollercoaster journey ensues.
Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah served as the film’s writer and director, while Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar co-produced the film. Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya earned over Rs 100 crore at the Indian box office.
According to News18 Showsha’s review, Shahid and Kriti delivered impressive performances, with the review stating, “Shahid shares a scintillating onscreen chemistry with Kriti. So – and filmmakers, please take note – it would be interesting to see the duo in a regular new-age love story with no preachy message, a genre that we all have been yearning for a while now.”
In a previous interview with News18 Showsha, Shahid discussed the challenges of finding the perfect script for a romantic love story, emphasizing his desire to offer something new to audiences through his film choices. He explained, “I was kind of missing doing something light and fun, definitely, but honestly, it’s the most difficult genre to crack. Because, I mean, I listen to 10 scripts a month, and people don’t know that there’s so much you hear from others – people tell me ‘aur picture karo’. But it’s so difficult to find scripts that could offer the audience something new, and love story is the most difficult genre, I feel, to do. And then, I just found this film was answering that question of mine, like what is it that you can do new in a love story.
