Salman Khan’s Tiger 3 will be released in overseas territories tomorrow, a day before its release in India. However, the release of the film in Oman and Qatar is uncertain. As per the B Town portal, Bollywood Hungama, there are reports that the authorities in Oman and Qatar have expressed reservations about the content of Tiger 3 but have not yet made a final decision. The film can still be released in these territories if the authorities agree to clear it.
According to a source, the authorities in Oman and Qatar are concerned about the India-Pakistan angle of Tiger 3 and the way Tiger takes on the terrorists. They fear that the current mood is such that it is difficult to predict how audiences will react to the film’s content. They are therefore undecided about whether to clear the film. A final decision is expected to be made today, after which Tiger 3 can be released successfully in these countries.
Yash Raj Films (YRF) has announced that shows of Tiger 3 in Oman, Qatar, and other GCC countries (except the UAE) will begin on November 11th from 6:30 PM onwards. An industry insider expressed hope that Tiger 3 will be released in Oman and Qatar, noting that it has already been passed in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. The insider also pointed out that the Tiger franchise has always shown Zoya (Katrina Kaif), a Pakistani character, fighting alongside the Indian protagonist, and that YRF and Salman Khan have always been mindful of not hurting the sentiments of any community or countrymen. Therefore, the insider confidently asserted that Tiger 3 should not cause any problems, even in the current scenario.
