The trio of Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Aamir Khan has long been synonymous with the term “Khans of Bollywood,” often associated with discussions of rivalries and industry dynamics. Saif Ali Khan later joined the group as the fourth Khan, albeit with more reservation. Interestingly, despite their individual paths to stardom, all three share the same age bracket, having navigated highs and lows while maintaining a mature and healthy relationship.
These three iconic figures, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, command significant respect and nearly equivalent remuneration for their film projects. However, this was not always the case.
During a particular period, when Shah Rukh Khan was filming Jab Tak Hai Jaan with YRF, Aamir and Salman were engaged in Dhoom 3 and Ek Tha Tiger, respectively. Each secretly harbored curiosity about the others’ compensation.
The trio also made their television hosting debuts in the late 2000s, with each commanding substantial fees. Salman Khan debuted as a TV host in 2010 with Bigg Boss 4, earning 2.5 crore per week. Shah Rukh Khan’s hosting debut came with Kaun Banega Crorepati in 2007, where he received a staggering 2.5 crore per episode. Aamir Khan’s TV debut with Satyameva Jayate in 2012 saw him command 3 crore per episode, 20% more than Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan’s hosting fees.
Intriguingly, Aamir Khan emerged as the highest-paid TV host for their debut seasons. Salman Khan earned 35 crore from Bigg Boss 4, while Aamir Khan earned 66 crore for the first season of Satyameva Jayate, a remarkable 88% more. However, Shah Rukh Khan’s hosting fee for 53 episodes of Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 3 totaled a staggering 132.5 crore, surpassing both Salman Khan’s and Aamir Khan’s fees by 278% and 100%, respectively.
These insights shed light on the multifaceted careers and dynamics of the iconic Khan trio, offering a glimpse into their professional journeys and the industry’s evolving landscape.
