Kamal Haasan’s highly anticipated film, Indian 2, directed by S. Shankar, is set to release in theaters on July 12. As the film’s scheduled cost circulates on the internet, reports suggest that Indian 2 has been made with a budget of Rs 250 crore. Each schedule of characters in the movie is estimated to have cost Rs. 30 crore, reflecting the significant investment made by Shankar in his upcoming film. This news has generated enormous expectations among viewers, heightening the anticipation surrounding the release.
Kamal Haasan previously provided an update on the film’s budget, acknowledging that it was not solely determined by the director and the script. The budget was influenced by unforeseen circumstances, including the impact of COVID-19 and delays caused by certain accidents. Haasan applauded the unwavering commitment of the producer and director, emphasizing their dedication to the project even before its success. He acknowledged the challenges they faced and their determination not to abandon the film despite the difficulties encountered along the way.
This decision exemplifies the perseverance exhibited by Lyca Productions and Shankar. Indian 2 is a Tamil-language vigilante action film directed by S. Shankar. Shankar co-wrote the script with B. Jeyamohan, Kabilan Vairamuthu, and Lakshmi Saravana Kumar. The film is co-produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies. Serving as the official sequel to the 1996 film Indian, Indian 2 features an ensemble cast including Siddharth, Kajal Aggarwal, Rahul Preet Singh, Samuthirakani, Bobby Simha, and Priya Bhavani Shankar.
According to sources, Shankar utilized CGI and body doubles to bring the late actors Vivek and Nedumudi Venu to life on the big screen, ensuring their presence is felt in the film. Indian 2 was announced in 2018, with shooting commencing in 2019. However, the COVID-19 outbreak forced a halt to filming. Tragically, an accident on set resulted in the unfortunate loss of three staff members, leading to a prolonged delay in the project. Additionally, disagreements between Lyca Productions and Shankar caused further postponements. After a significant wait and the resolution of all issues, filming has finally concluded, and Indian 2 is now ready to captivate audiences on the big screen.
