After more than two and a half years, Aamir Khan will finally grace the big screen this year with Sitaare Zameen Par. The film has been widely discussed, with numerous speculations surrounding its release date and trailer launch. Bollywood Hungama has now confirmed that Aamir has secured a distributor, PVR Inox Pictures.
A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “Aamir has a long-standing relationship with the PVR Inox team. To celebrate his 60th birthday on March 14, the exhibition arm of PVR Inox hosted a film festival across their properties nationwide, showcasing some of his greatest films. Just a week prior to this event, Aamir had an engaging conversation with Javed Akhtar at PVR Juhu in Mumbai. Additionally, Sitaare Zameen Par serves as a spiritual sequel to Taare Zameen Par (2007), which also had ties to PVR, being supported by PVR Pictures and co-produced by Sanjeev Kumar Bijli, Ajay Bijli, and Aamir Khan Productions. It’s a case of life coming full circle.
”The source further noted, “If everything goes smoothly, Aamir Khan is set to launch the trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par digitally on Wednesday, April 30. Moviegoers can expect to see it on the big screen starting May 1. PVR Inox plans to feature the promo in all their cinemas nationwide, alongside new releases like Raid 2, Thunderbolts, and The Bhootnii.”Recent reports indicate that the trailer for Sitaare Zameen Par runs for 3 minutes and 29 seconds and has been approved with a U/A certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The film is anticipated to hit cinemas on June 20.Directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), Sitaare Zameen Par also stars Genelia Deshmukh. PVR Inox Pictures has recently distributed several notable films such as Bholaa (2023), Mission Raniganj (2023), Article 370 (2024), Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (2024), Stree 2 (2024), Singham Again (2024), Baby John (2024), and Sky Force (2025).
