A big news coming from Tinsel Town. Yes, you heard it right, the Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan is known to divide his properly equally. He has given or bestowed his Juhu bungalow known as Prateeksha, to his daughter Shweta Nanda. As per reports, the property documents are obtained by Zapkey.
The residence spans two plots based in Juhu, Mumbai, which seemed to come in different sizes of 890.47 sq m and 674 sq m respectively. The gift deed, came on November 8, which consisted of a stamp duty payment worth Rs 50.65 lakh for the transaction.
The said property seemed to be the part and parcel of the Vithal Nagar Cooperative Housing Society Ltd. Big B and his wife Jaya Bachchan are seen as the donors of the property, while Shweta Nanda is named as the recipient. This gesture holds too much of the sentimental value, while Prateeksha was the actor’s first bungalow in Juhu, where he resided with his parents.
Earlier this year, we saw Amitabh Bachchan acquiring four units on the 21st floor of a commercial complex in Andheri, Mumbai worth 7.18 crore each. The stamp duty for the same was paid to Rs 43.10 lakh. The units were purchased on July 1, 2023, and it came with three car parking slots each. The actor has shown a preference for investing in commercial properties, often renting them out for better annual rental yields.
In a notable transaction in 2020, Amitabh Bachchan bought a 5,184 sq ft property worth Rs 31 crore in Mumbai’s Atlantis project by the Crystal Group. He registered the property in April 2021, paying a stamp duty of Rs 62 lakh, taking advantage of the Maharashtra government’s stamp duty waiver until March 31, 2021.
In 2022, the Bollywood legend sold the South Delhi property ‘Sopaan,’ where his parents once lived, for Rs 23 crore. The buyer, Avni Bader, CEO of the Nezone group of companies, had a longstanding association with the Bachchan family, spanning over three decades.
