Ashneer Grover’s LinkedIn Post Following Salman Khan’s Advice on Bigg Boss

A recent episode of Bigg Boss 18 Weekend Ka Vaar featured a heated exchange between actor Salman Khan and fintech entrepreneur Ashneer Grover. During the episode, Salman confronted Grover about his “doglapan,” a term meaning ‘double standards’ that also serves as the title of Grover’s book. Salman challenged Grover, saying, “I have heard you speaking about me. You said, ‘We signed him for this much, signed him for that much,’ and all your figures were wrong. So then, what is with the double standards?”
In response, Ashneer Grover took to LinkedIn to clarify his statements, expressing that he enjoyed the episode and appreciated the viewership it garnered. He praised Salman, stating, “Salman is a great host & actor. I’ve always praised Salman for his sense of self and business—never said anything demeaning about him.” He also asserted that his deal numbers were accurate and recounted a three-hour meeting with Salman in May 2019 regarding a brand collaboration.
I hope you all enjoyed the Bigg Boss Weekend Ka Vaar! I had a great time, and I’m confident that this episode attracted impressive TRP and viewership. Here are some truths I want to share:

  • Salman is an exceptional host and actor.
  • He understands what resonates with the audience on Bigg Boss.
  • I have consistently praised Salman for his self-awareness and business acumen—never have I said anything negative about him.
  • My deal figures are always accurate, verified by banks and auditors.
  • I had a three-hour exclusive meeting with Salman regarding a brand collaboration in May 2019 at JW Marriott Juhu. It’s understandable if he doesn’t remember me, as I wasn’t a public figure then and he meets countless people.
  • The invitation to appear as a guest on Bigg Boss was not ‘unnamed,’ just like the cheque for it
The term “doglapan” gained popularity after Grover used it on Shark Tank India in 2021, and it has since become a point of contention. Grover further elaborated on his experience working with Salman, mentioning how he made Hrithik Roshan, who was an assistant director on Karan Arjun, feel uncomfortable during his early career.
After his time as an assistant director, Hrithik made his acting debut in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000, directed by Rakesh Roshan, which catapulted him to fame. Hrithik was last seen in Fighter, directed by Siddharth Anand, which focuses on an elite unit, Air Dragons, responding to militant activities in the Srinagar Valley.
