The story of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, adapted from the novel Chhaava, has left a significant mark on Indian cinema. Featuring Vicky Kaushal in the lead role, this historical epic has made history as the first Bollywood production to surpass Rs 500 crore at the Indian box office in 2025.
The film garnered Rs 219.25 crore in its opening week and followed up with Rs 180.25 crore in the second week. However, there was a decline in earnings during the third week, with the historical drama earning Rs 84.5 crore. As of the third day into the fourth week, Chhaava has made approximately Rs 37 crore.
