Fardeen Khan Shares Details on No Entry 2, Confirms He Won’t Be Part of the Sequel: “It’s completely a New Cast”

The beloved comedy No Entry, featuring a star-studded cast including Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Lara Dutta, Esha Deol, Bipasha Basu, and Celina Jaitly, was widely celebrated for its slapstick humor, a signature style of director Anees Bazmee. As producer Boney Kapoor and Bazmee prepare to reunite for a sequel, anticipation is high. However, despite the announcement, the sequel has yet to begin filming as the casting is still being finalized.
Amid various casting rumors, Fardeen Khan has confirmed that the sequel is indeed in the works. As per Bollywood Hungama it will feature a completely new cast. This news is sure to disappoint fans eager to see Anil Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Fardeen Khan share the screen again. Fardeen humorously noted, “I think it has been announced, but we are not in it. It’s going to have a whole new star cast. So, damn it!” He added, “You should call Boney Kapoor for this,” to clarify the situation.
Fardeen also reflected on his experience filming No Entry, which recently celebrated its 19th anniversary. “As an actor, this was my first foray into full-on comedy, where I played a silly, funny, goofy character who is rather vulnerable and naive. It was a departure from how I typically viewed myself. It really liberated me because I had to let go. Although I was initially hesitant, it was Boney Kapoor’s faith in me that made a difference. He saw me in a couple of comedic scenes in Khushi and said, ‘Fardeen, you’re perfect for this role.’ I was surprised because my character was initially portrayed by Prabhu Deva in the 2002 remake of Charlie Chaplin, and I interpreted it quite differently.
He further remarked, “Boney assembled a fantastic team, starting with Anees Bazmee, who truly excels in this genre. His writing allows for so much creativity, and there were moments when we couldn’t keep a straight face while filming. Actors like Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan absolutely nailed their roles, and the women in the film brought their A-game as well. It’s not common to see such synergy, as comedy is one of the toughest genres to execute, both in acting and writing.
