Bollywood stars have repeatedly shared unpleasant encounters they’ve experienced at various events, both within and outside the industry. Fatima Sana Shaikh, currently receiving praise for her portrayal of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in her upcoming film “Sam Bahadur,” recently opened up about an encounter with a rude “elite drunk girl” during a promotional interview.
“Sam Bahadur,” directed by Meghna Gulzar and starring Vicky Kaushal, is set to release tomorrow, December 1st, in a highly anticipated clash with “Animal” starring Ranbir Kapoor. Despite the fierce competition, the film has already garnered rave reviews from critics, with many hailing Kaushal’s performance as his career-best.
Leading up to the release of their film “Sam Bahadur,” Vicky Kaushal, Fatima Sana Shaikh, and director Meghna Gulzar embarked on an extensive promotional campaign. During one such interview, the “Dangal” actress recounted an unpleasant encounter with a self-entitled individual from a privileged background.
In a candid conversation with Times Of India, Shaikh recalled the humiliating experience, revealing that it occurred at a mutual friend’s party. She described the individual as “elite, privileged, and entitled,” who displayed an air of superiority and treated her dismissively.
Shaikh further elaborated on the incident, explaining that the individual’s condescending remarks and arrogant behavior made her feel uncomfortable and disrespected. She emphasized that such encounters, where individuals are judged based on their social status, are disheartening and should not be tolerated.
“I realized that some people have no sense of boundaries,” Shaikh remarked. “They’re incredibly rude and entitled. These aren’t ordinary people; they’re part of an elite group that believes they can say whatever they want and get away with it. After that, she informed me that she works in human rights, which I found particularly ironic. I just thought to myself, ‘You should be ashamed of yourself.'” Shaikh concluded by sharing that the encounter left her feeling so humiliated and upset that she couldn’t hold back her tears when she returned home.
