The much-anticipated film “Guntur Kaaram,” directed by Trivikram Srinivas and starring Mahesh Babu, Sreeleela, and Meenakshi Chaudhary, has finally unveiled its trailer after a two-day delay. The trailer’s release on Sunday garnered significant attention, with fans eagerly anticipating Mahesh Babu’s return to the big screen after a two-year hiatus. The trailer showcases Mahesh Babu in peak form as Ramana, delivering powerful dialogues and effortlessly executing action sequences. It also provides a glimpse into the film’s narrative and introduces key characters, including Ramya Krishnan as a mother who seemingly abandons her eldest son, Sreeleela as the love interest, and Jagapathi Babu as her father. The trailer hints at the film’s emotional depth, particularly concerning Ramana’s familial relationships.

In “Guntur Kaaram,” Mahesh portrays Vyra Venkat Ramana Reddy, Sreeleela plays Keerthi aka Ammu, and Meenakshi Chaudhary portrays Raji. The film also features an ensemble cast, including Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, Easwari Rao, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Brahmanandam, Mahesh Achanta, and Raghu Babu. The music for the film is composed by Thaman S, with cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa and PS Vinod.

The film’s journey from pre-production to filming has been marked by significant changes in the cast and crew. Initially, Pooja Hegde was set to play Sreeleela’s role, and the actor was supposed to portray Meenakshi’s character. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, Pooja withdrew from the project. The script also underwent substantial revisions, leading to the reshooting of several scenes to align with the altered narrative.

Despite receiving mixed reviews, with the first single “Dum Masala” garnering a positive response, subsequent songs such as “Oh My Baby” and “Kurchi Madathapetti” faced criticism for both their lyrics and music.

“Guntur Kaaram” is scheduled to hit screens on January 12, coinciding with the Sankranthi festival, with special screenings planned in the Telugu states. The film will face competition from Teja Sajja’s “HanuMan,” releasing on the same day, as well as Venkatesh’s “Saindhav” on January 13 and Nagarjuna’s “Naa Saami Ranga” on January 14. Ravi Teja’s “Eagle,” initially slated for release on January 13, has been postponed to February following a meeting of the producers’ councils in Hyderabad.
