While last evening was a momentous occasion for many National Film Award winners, it also celebrated numerous celebrities at the prestigious Indian Film Festival of Melbourne (IFFM) 2024 in Australia. Among the honored actors were Kartik Aaryan and Ram Charan, alongside the acclaimed filmmaker Kabir Khan. Kartik received an acting award for his stellar performance in the recently released Chandu Champion, while Kabir was recognized for his directorial work on the biopic.

Kabir Khan was awarded Best Director at the ongoing IFFM for Chandu Champion, a news that was proudly shared by the festival’s official social media channels. Check the post coming from the group on their official social media handles:

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala expressed his joy over the film’s accolades on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), stating, “Champion winning hearts at the @IFFMelb! Thank you for all the love showered on our film!” In his post, he acknowledged the achievements of Kartik Aaryan, who won Best Actor, as well as Kabir Khan, and also tagged the entire film team, including the crew.

For those unfamiliar, Chandu Champion is inspired by true events and is loosely based on the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar. The film was shot across various locations and features an ensemble cast that includes Vijay Raaz, Bhuvan Arora, Yashpal Sharma, Rajpal Yadav, Aniruddh Dave, Shreyas Talpade, Nitin Bhajan, and Hemangi Kavi, among others. It chronicles the journey of a determined village boy who aspires to win the Arjuna Award but instead is honored with the Padma Shri, showcasing his experiences as an aspiring athlete, his military service, and his participation in the Paralympics.
