The trailer for Jaat, starring Sunny Deol, was unveiled on March 24, initially crediting two production houses: Mythri Movie Makers, led by Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar, and People Media Factory, headed by T.G. Vishwa Prasad. However, since April 1, the film’s assets have also included Zee Studios and Umesh K. R. Bansal. Although Zee Studios was not promoting Jaat initially, their marketing efforts began on April 2, and the logo of Zee Studios now appears in the film, which is currently performing well at the box office. Moviegoers were taken aback by Zee’s involvement, with some speculating that they might have distributed the film; however, it is actually Anil Thadani’s AA Films that handled the distribution.
As per a trade source who explained the situation, stating, “Mythri Movie Makers was falling short of a certain amount. Sunny Deol, who has a good relationship with Zee, especially after the success of Gadar and Gadar 2, recommended them to Mythri. Following Sunny’s request, the executives at Zee Studios agreed to lend ₹65 crores.”
The source elaborated, “Mythri has mortgaged the Hindi rights of their upcoming films scheduled for 2025 and 2026 against this loan. They also agreed to list Zee as a producer for Jaat, which Zee accepted, leading to the release of funds.”Directed by Gopichand Malineni, Jaat features a talented cast, including Randeep Hooda, Viineet Kumar Siingh, Regena Cassandra, and Saiyami Kher. The film revolves around a mysterious man who enters a lawless territory and confronts its feared criminal. It hit theaters on Thursday, April 10, and opened with an impressive ₹9.62 crores.
