Film lovers are in for a delightful start to the year with the inaugural Cinema Lovers Day of 2025, scheduled for Friday, January 17. On this special day, theaters and multiplexes across the country will offer movie tickets for regular seats at a discounted price of just Rs. 99. This initiative is expected to boost footfalls and generate increased revenue for the cinema industry. The biggest beneficiaries of this promotion will be the new Hindi releases, Emergency and Azaad. Emergency stars Kangana Ranaut as former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, and Kangana also takes on directing duties. The film features a strong ensemble cast, including Milind Soman, Anupam Kher, and Mahima Chaudhry.
Meanwhile, Azaad marks the debut of Ajay Devgn‘s nephew Aaman Devgan and Raveena Tandon‘s daughter Rasha Thadani. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, known for films like Rock On (2008) and Kedarnath (2018), the film also stars Ajay Devgn in a dynamic role.Among the holdover releases, Pushpa 2 will also benefit, as an extended cut featuring 20 minutes of additional footage will hit cinemas on January 17.
