Dupahiya, starring Gajraj Rao, Renuka Shahane, and Sparsh Shrivastava, to stream on Prime Video from March 7

Prime Video is set to launch its upcoming original comedy series, Dupahiya, on March 7. Created and executive produced by Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani under their banner, Bombay Film Cartel, the series is directed by Sonam Nair and written by Avinash Dwivedi and Chirag Garg. This nine-episode series blends humor and drama with the charm of small-town life, featuring a talented cast that includes Gajraj RaoRenuka ShahaneBhuvan AroraSparsh ShrivastavaShivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashpal Sharma in pivotal roles. Dupahiya will be available exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide.
The plot centers around the fictional village of Dhadakpur, which is gearing up to celebrate 25 years of being crime-free. However, the festivities take a chaotic turn when a prized Dupahiya (motorbike) goes missing. With the village’s silver jubilee trophy, a wedding, and their pride on the line, the residents embark on a wild adventure to recover the stolen bike before it’s too late.Nikhil Madhok, Head of Originals at Prime Video India, stated, “At Prime Video, we believe that the best stories celebrate India’s rich diversity and cultural flavors, and Dupahiya does precisely that. Blending humor, heart, and the essence of small-town India, the series features vibrant characters and unexpected twists, promising a delightful family experience.” 
He also highlighted the show’s significance as the debut of Bombay Film Cartel and its commitment to showcasing stories led by women. Director Sonam Nair expressed her pride in the project, noting, “Bringing Dupahiya to life has been a fulfilling journey, celebrating the quirks of small-town life. With our amazing ensemble cast, I believe audiences will thoroughly enjoy this warm and humorous series. ”Executive producers Salona Bains Joshi and Shubh Shivdasani added, “We aimed to create a heartwarming and hilarious series that captures the extraordinary chaos of small-town India. This project wouldn’t have been possible without our talented writers and crew. We’re excited for its premiere on March 7.”
