The hype for Atlee’s Jawan, starring Shah Rukh Khan in dual roles alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, is at an all-time high. With the film’s theatrical release just two days away, the advance booking for the action flick is crazy, with over ₹21.30 crore gross in India for the first day already. However, there is some sad news as well. As per a Facebook post, cinemagoers who frequent Priya Cinemas in Kolkata will have to find another theater to watch the much-awaited film Jawan. This is because the cinema’s owner has decided not to screen the film due to “illogical” demands from the distributors.

The distributors have reportedly demanded that Priya Cinemas show only Bengali films in all its shows during the upcoming Diwali season, including the festival of Kali Puja. This is despite the fact that Jawan is a major Bollywood film starring Shah Rukh Khan. The cinema’s owner, Arijit Dutta, has said that he is not willing to comply with these demands. He has called them “illogical” and “unfair”. He has also said that he does not want to discriminate against any film, regardless of its language.

Dutta’s decision has been welcomed by many in the film industry. They have praised him for standing up to the distributors and for refusing to bow to their demands. The decision has also been met with some criticism. Some people have said that Dutta is being unfair to Bengali films. They have argued that the distributors are only trying to protect the interests of Bengali films during the festive season.

However, Dutta has said that he is not interested in taking sides. He has said that his only concern is to provide the best possible experience for his customers. He has also said that he is confident that Jawan will be a success, even if it is not screened at Priya Cinemas.
