Dinker Sharma, Sonia Rathee, Siddhi Idnani, Jay Thakkar, Tusshar Kapoor, Varun Pande, Dhiren Tiwari, Abishek Kumar, producer Jayesh Patel, and others gathered at a multiplex in Mumbai for the trailer launch of the upcoming horror comedy Kapkapii. The film’s team claimed that several eerie and unexplained occurrences took place during and after the filming.
Producer Jayesh Patel recounted, “After we completed the movie, we hosted a private screening at Future Studios. There’s a scene where the characters call out to Anamika. As soon as that scene began, the projector bulb went out! The studio staff claimed this was the first time something like this had happened in the history of that place.”He continued, “I later held a screening for Zee Studios at Sunny Super Sound, and once again, something strange occurred during the same scene.
At around 25 minutes in, the sound cut out while the visuals continued. The projectionist told me, ‘I’ve been doing this for 25 years, and this is the first time I’ve experienced something like this!’”Dhirendra Tiwari added, “Additionally, after we wrapped up shooting, Shreyas Talpade suffered a heart attack.” The veteran actor had a heart attack in December 2023 and was notably absent from the trailer launch.Tusshar Kapoor shared, “A lot of strange incidents happened before I arrived on set. Someone was always falling sick, so I took extra precautions. I brought a steam inhaler, masks, jackets, and more.
Thankfully, nothing happened to me. But you’ll have to watch the film to find out why I stayed safe in the first place!” Just as Tusshar finished his statement, the lights in the auditorium suddenly went out, creating an atmosphere that hinted at a supernatural presence.
Remembering Sangeeth Sivan
Kapkapii is directed by Sangeeth Sivan, who passed away on May 8, 2024. The cast and crew shared fond memories of the filmmaker, with Siddhi Idnani becoming emotional as she spoke about him. Jayashree, Sivan’s wife, was present at the launch and was honored by the cast and crew for her support.
