Sudha Murty, an Indian educator, author and philanthropist, recently attended the screening of Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film The Vaccine War. After watching the movie, Murty shared her take on the film, which she felt gives the message that a person’s biggest wealth is their confidence. The Vaccine War is touted as India’s first bio-science cinematic endeavour. As per the makers, it is based on the true story of Indian scientists in their fight against COVID-19 by developing an affordable vaccine for India and the world.
Vivek Agnihotri shared a video of Sudha Murty speaking about his film The Vaccine War after the screening. Murty began by calling the movie “heart-touching.” She spoke about how a woman’s success is enabled by an understanding man, as the film showed the effort of female scientists in creating a vaccine for COVID-19. In other words, Sudha Murty praised The Vaccine War for its portrayal of the important role of women in science and the importance of supportive partners for women to succeed.
Sudha Murty spoke about the challenges women face in balancing their careers and families, and the importance of having supportive partners. She said, “I understand the role of a woman because she is a mother, she is a wife, and she is also a career person. It is very hard to balance your family and your work. But some people are fortunate. In my case, my parents stayed upstairs, and I stayed downstairs, which is why I could do better.”
Murty’s words are a reminder of the many challenges that women face, both in their personal and professional lives. They are also a call for men to be more supportive of their partners and families. Vivek was quick to applaud the lady by tweeting, have a look at this words:
